05 Civic Hybrid Manual, A/C blowing hot air
The other day I driving on the Interstate with a few friends, he mentioned how it was way too cold in the car so i turned the A/C down. about 10 minutes later it was getting very hot in the car and nothing we did could get it to cool back down and then we started to see smoke from under the hood, it was coming from the A/C compressor area but im really not sure what caused this, I purchased a can of freon and the gauge seems to read that I have too much but im not sure how this could be.

What did this "smoke" smell like? Burning rubber? Horse stable?
Can you rotate the compressor clutch? (the outermost plate on the pulley end)
Does that plate appear to have cooked all the paint off of it?

smelled like yeah Horse Stable now that you mention it.
seems that i can rotate the clutch, the plate looks black

now it makes a Ping Ping Ping when i drive with A/C off
smelled like yeah Horse Stable now that you mention it.
If you had a car full of people when it happened, would you have even noticed if it did make a noise?

wait, can you take a pic of it?
Start the engine and turn on the AC: Do both radiator fans kick on?
At the same time, does the compressor clutch engage and spin?
