After clutch replacement, braking improved ???

Hi all,
I have a 2001 Civic EX 5sp Sdn w/195k mi. I have only owned it for 1 year. The car was on the verge of needing major work last month, because (1) the brake pedal and steering wheel pulsated A LOT while braking, (2) a clucking sound entered the cabin on the right-hand side of vehicle while going over bumpy roads, (3) the clutch was not always engaging properly.

I had the clutch replaced by a professional. After breaking in the clutch for 500-800 mi or so, we noticed that the brake pedal and steering wheel no longer pulsed while braking. The brakes felt new, healthy, normal....something they have not felt like in 6 months.

Has anyone had this experience?!?! What could explain this?!?!

The clunking sound (3) may be dampers...checking that out soon....

Thanks,
George

There's no connection. Placebo effect. Unless, your mechanic threw in rotors turning and didn't tell you..but, that is highly unlikely.
