Climate control air blows in all directions

My ac and heater doesn't matter which setting is on blows in all directions. If i set it to vents only , it still blows in all directions meaning to the feet+vents. I want it to blow in the front vents ONLY. What's my problem here?

Does the mode control motor work? Linkages intact?
Got a service manual?

Even the mode to blow air to the windshield works. It's just that vent/feet are always blowing air no matter if it's just feet or feet only/both selected. And I no service manual atm. My guess is that the vent selector motor is failing.

Re: Climate control air blows in all directions

So it can still open and close the defrost door (windshield position)?

Stick your head up under the dash to look at the mode control motor and linkages on the side of the heater housing. Use the **** to make the motor run through each position several times. Observe what it does and what all moves....or doesn't move.

Make sure the floor flap link hasn't popped apart from the rest of the linkage.

Check for fault codes (HVAC self test)

The service manual has many procedures for testing so you don't have to guess at wrong parts to replace.
There's a sticky thread in this forum with links to free manuals. Search for 'free 7th gen manual' or something.
