o5 civic 5 speed axel boot looks stretched please help? 5 speed manual lx coupe
I replaced my let front axel due to pop g and clicking the popping g has stoped but it still clicks in gear going straight down the road.. the boot looks stretched the one closest to trans I've heard the input shaft bearing g will cause a noise bit this seems to be comin from the wheel and if u hit something just right it will stop for a second also think my bushings are wore will that cause the axel to click
Re: o5 civic 5 speed axel boot looks stretched please help? 5 speed manual lx coupe
The bushings will not make noise while traveling on smooth pavement. They will make a low "pop-pop or bump-bump" noise when the car goes over a bump; because they sit in the lower control arms and move up and down over bumps.
Did you replace the axle with a new axle or scrap yard?
The only other parts that would make a noise fron the rotation of the transmission would be the wheel bearings, they sound like a helicopter while cornering.
or the transmission it self.
-If you can jack up the car, on stands.
-put it in neutral and rotate the wheels by hand.
After this if you can not find the issue have a friend giv it a bit of gas, while both wheels are on stands in the air. keep your body away from the vehicle and make sure you are on flat solid pavement. Be careful.
