2003 civic all bank error codes.

Good afternoon all. Recently (month ago) I noticed a CEL, threw my blue tooth OBD2 sensor on and originally it was just a bank 1 and 3 error. Today I threw it back on and realized I had a misfire on all cylinders plus the "random" misfire code thrown. When I first noticed the CEL, I replaced the spark plugs and the codes were still there.

Thinking It is a fuel pump, filter, or battery issue but want to be sure as I am am poor college student.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Re: 2003 civic all bank error codes.

I see it set at idle RPM and warmed up engine?

Erase codes.

Run engine. Is it misfiring at idle?
Does the CEL start flashing? Read code immediately and see if it's just one cylinder.

THen move to the engine compartment and verify if you have a dead cylinder by isolation and cancelling individually. (unplug each coil one at a time for a few seconds and note any change in how it runs)

If you can have it narrowed to a single cylinder or two cylinders not contributing, then post again.

Thanks for the reply.

Checked all plugs and coils by removing each one individually to see what would happen. Each cylinder seems to be fine in that regard. Each time i removed the coil, the performance would drop (rightfully so). So I am assuming that is not the problem.

It is almost as though there really isnt a misfire anywhere. There is no hesitation when accelerating or idling, no stutters, etc. just keep getting these damn codes after a few days

Do you ever see the check engine light flashing while driving before or at the time it sets fault code(s)?

YES! I do! Some times it turns off so I can not catch the code. Sometimes it stays on.

Can you tell the engine is obviously not running quite correct while the light is flashing?

Can you tell that it's not running right shortly before the warning light comes on?

Is this misfire a consistent thing (like every time it's idling and warmed up or something, whatever situation it acts up in) or is it completely random, like one day it acts up but on another day in the exact same situation it's fine?

Do you carry your own code reader, check codes as soon as they happen?

How many miles on the engine?

Valve adjustment check and adjust?
Compression test?

Re: 2003 civic all bank error codes.

I posted in your thread over at Hondatech as well:

"No other codes than the P030X misfire codes right?

If not the plugs, coils, injectors and their connections/grounds - check for low compression (bad head gasket), low quality fuel or a bad EGR valve or VTEC (if your car is so equipped) and correct valve clearance. Finally could be a faulty PCM."
