Hi all,

I have a 2001 Honda Civic. AC never worked when I bought it about 5 years ago. I never really needed it, and didn't want to spend a ton of money at a shop, but now I'm trying to diagnose the issue.

Neither of my fans is working, and my AC clutch doesn't engage.

Here is what I've done so far:

1) Hooked both fans up directly to battery- both work
2) Shorted the cooling fan connector and started the car- both fans work, no AC compressor. So the relays should not be the issue for the fans, right?
3) Replaced the cooling fan switch, still no fans, no compressor

My car does not ever overheat, even on long distance drives.

So, where do I go from here? I could change the thermostat, but I'm not sure that is the issue either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You say the radiator fans do not turn on when you turn the AC on?

If no, check if the system (freon) is empty.

I haven't checked freon (probably should have started with that...)
