Hello All. New member, and my broken side view mirror has brought me here! Browsing around a bit, there's a lot of good info here. Great place to learn all about my car!

I have a 2002 4 Door LX. My passenger's side view power mirror broke and the wiring harness has gotten pulled out of the 8 pin white plug that is attached to the mirror. I'm trying to find out which wires go back into which holes on the plug. There are only 3 wires....a brown, pink and an orange colored one which comes from the power mirror adjustment motor.


Does anyone have a wiring diagram? Or, does anyone have a mirror that is not installed on their car and could look? All you would have to do is remove the 2 small torx screws and look at the back of the plug. I did a Google search as well with no luck. Any help would be appreciated!

Here's a picture so that you all can see what I'm talking about. The 3 wires have pulled out from the back of the white 8 pin plug. (Which is still attached to the mirror in my photo by the 2 small torx screws.) The harness from the car plugs into this white plug once the mirror is installed on the car.

My diagrams don't show the area you need....but you can probably figure out the wiring with a little work

You could check the OTHER mirror to see if it has the same color wires in it.

You could stick the 3 wires into the harness plug various ways, and operate the mirror switch until you hit upon the right combination that gets it working the right way. Note colors then assemble them into the connector shell in the right spots.

Don't let the bare terminals short together while working the mirror switch, that will damage things.

Thanks also for the suggestions. Great idea to check the other mirror! I didn't even think of that! That's probably the solution. Hopefully it's the same.

If all else failed, I was gonna try to plug in the 3 wires at random until it worked, but I thought I'd ask here first in case someone had the info.

I figured out the wiring. I thought I'd post my findings just in case anyone else might have this issue. Plus it's always nice to see closing results of issues. So many threads end with the OP never coming back to report what was found.


Out of the Mirror.................Harness on the Car
-------------------------------------------------------
Orange..............................White with red stripe
Pink...................................Red
Brown................................Green with white stripe
