04 EX hiccups/jerk?

Just started out of no where, only way I can describe what is going on is minor hiccuping/jerking/shaking, I parked the car and pressed on the gas pedal all the way down, noticed the engine check light flash on and off ( Engine light has been on for a while now, checked by Mechanic told me it's an O2 sensor)

Could it be fuel injection? Spark plugs? I have no idea

A big problem with ignoring that check engine light is you can't tell when the car has a NEW problem, unless it runs bad. And yours runs bad.

A flashing CEL is a misfire. Stop driving it. You can ruin the cat if you drive it while it is misfiring.

Figure out what codes it has now.
Find and fix the misfire.
See what else needs addressed.

Took it and go the codes read, the guy told me it's the O2 sensor and Cylinder 1,2,etc so I assumed it spark plugs

changed those earlier, but the problem persists it's still a bit shaky, someone said it could be a catalytic converter issue? what are the symptoms of that

Exactly what code(s) is the "etc" here?

Got Freeze Frame Data, and the corresponding code? Post that please, I'd like to see it.

I doubt it will be plugs.

Oh. I see you did this.
How much "earlier"? Did that make any difference at all in how it runs?

NGK or DENSO plugs, I hope?

Did the plugs you removed show signs of the problem?

someone said it could be a catalytic converter issue? what are the symptoms of that
Several possible. Most either set codes or clog. Yours will never run a cat code test until you have fixed the O2 sensor code.

You need help from someone that can diagnose and solve problems, not guess.

I have no idea what kind of plugs they were to be honest with you, got them from Auto Parts gave the guy the car year and model and he gave me those, one of plugs had a little bit of oil in it, there was a mechanic nearby he said it's no biggie might just need to change the head gasket seal/valve cover something like that, I'm a bit tight on money that's why I delayed getting the o2 sensor fixed and was hoping it was just the plugs..., the code read no O2 sensor activity, he mentioned nothing of a catalytic convereter as far as codes go .. sorry I'm a noob

Got it running nice now, took it to my guy ran his diagnostic and came up with O2 sensor and Cylinder 1,2,3 misfiring, he took them out checked around for leaks, valve cover gasket needs to be changed, did a compression test? took the plugs out again sprayed something on them and put them back in and seems to be running fine lol sucks I got charged but Hey anyone else would've charged for Diagnostic and Air compression test out $65 bucks.......... you pay for knowledge I suppose I do have to get an O2 sensor checked on eBay cheapest found was $195
