I never get any answers from another honda site, this one looks to have
more active member involved.

So heres my issue. The ac compressor seized up on my 02 honda ex and its at
the mechanics shop. He told me it would be about 500 to replace the
compressor total. The only thing is he doesnt know if its the just the
compressor, ac clutch or the shaft that went bad and caused the issue. He
hasnt pulled out anything yet. he just gave me the quote, but may be more
depending on what it ends up being. Is there a way to bypass the ac on this
car? Mechanic said he doesnt know of a 00 or later model that doesnt come
equipped with ac. I read on a old post that the 01 civic dx would work, can
anyone else confirm if thats true or if they know of another belt i could
use?

The DX doesn't have a/c. If the compressor seized at the very least it needs a complete flush, a reciever drier, and see if there is any other damage. If the compressor did seize the most likely is that it had slow leaks over time, which carried oil with it, they refilled it to work. You can't just put oil in without an accurate measure of whats lost, (too much is more damaging faster than not enough...) so it got less and less oil. SO, the compressor, flush, drier, find the leak. Honestly $500 is pretty cheap. Save your coin and fix it, IMO if the a/c is out I WILL NOT BUY IT, bad a/c kills resell for most people......
