Dashboard/Indicator Lights Acting up on 2003 EX
Dashboard/Indicator Lights Acting up on 2003 EX
My 2003 Honda Civic is acting up - the car runs fine, but the dashboard is going haywire. Car starts fine, but the malfunction warning light never goes off. After driving for a minute or two, many of the other warning lights come on, even the ones that make no sense (particularly the brake light, when nothing was done to the brake - the other lights that come on for no reason are the ABS, low fuel, and supplemental restraint system.) These lights then may turn off again as I continue driving, or else the entire dash goes blank except for the warning lights (no gas gauge, spedometer, or anything) - then the gauges can come back up. It seems to switch between three states: everything OK except the malfunction inidicator light; all the warning lights mentioned but otherwise running fine; no readings displayed except for warning lights. It seems that there might be some type of electrical problem, but I'm at a loss.
