Just bought a 1997 Honda Civic ex 110,000 miles.... power everything

The driver side door lock will not lock when door is opened only when the key is inserted...

The car came with a modernized cd player. How do i get keyless entry with this thing? Stock Cd player?

The dome light Doesn't work not sure if it's the bulb or not.. No Cover either..

The Cigarette outlet will not work.. I checked the Fuse not sure what to do next!...

The needles do not light up when at night...

The power windows are very slow and the drivers pops out of the bezel..

Lots of stuff wrong I know but if someone could direct me in the right direction I'd be happy! or answer one question at a time or all! Thanks for any help!..

With the drivers door open, pull OUT on either door handle, then push the lock button. Hondas were made this way for decades, it is normal.

Start with spray silicone, lube the rubber channel seal.
If the glass keeps coming out of the track (is that your bezel?) then it may need more work.

Adjust dash light brightness.



Are the wires even connected? Whoever did the radio could have forgot.
(Might have been a Cassette player.)
Or get a complete aftermarket keyless/alarm/start/whatever installed.

Engine compartment, fuse #43.
You may need a wiring diagram and some creative fixing. The dome light ground circuit ran through the original radio, according to this diagram I see (assuming the car is a USA market vehicle).

Dash lights!

I've Replaced the bulbs behind the cluster, but my needles are very hard to see at night... What can i do?!

The needles themselves don't light up.

Check the bulbs that shine right on the faces of the gauges. I think there are like 2 or 3 in a strip along the top of the gauge cluster. (IIRC)

The ones on the wires, #8, 21

Take out the CD player and on the wiring in the car cut and strip the lt.grn/red and the lt.grn/blk connect them with a wire nut and the dome light will work again. via the last instruction after link...

When I had my 6th gen I ended up wiring in the old cassette deck so it had power and connected the other wiring harness to it. I then put the old cassette deck down in the middle behind the bezel, there's room its just a tight fit. This also fixed the dome light issue.

Not sure how to wire it up so the keyless entry works w/out having the old cassette deck in.

Thanks for all the posts... I'll try and replace all of the dash lights and see if the problem is fixed... What's the trouble with getting new accent for the gates?
