Rep Power: 0 ECU Replacement - please help
My 2003 civic LX needs a new ECU/PCM. The dealer is asking $1000, and I'd much rather buy a used ECU and have them install it.
The problem is, the dealer says the part number is 37820-PLM-426...
...but all of the used ECUs I'm finding are 37820-PLM-L56 or L52 or L54.
Does it make a difference what the last 3 digits are? The mechanic at the dealer says everything needs to match exactly, but I'm not sure if he's just trying to get me to buy his part. Thanks for any help you can give!

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Used? Try
www.car-part.com
Used unit will still have to be programmed before the engine will run.

Tell that dealer to suck a nut because he's blatantly trying to rip you off. Use car-part.com like they said and find a new dealer. Dont give buisness to dishonest ****s

Thanks, guys. I posted this on the other thread, but that guy at the dealer was definitely trippin'. He lied to me about the part number, and when I went to see the part from my car myself, it definitely was something I can get used off of car-part.com. I just can't believe they would straight up lie to me about the part number. Whatever happened to trying to help people?

If I replace the ignition that came with the used ECU would you still need to re program?
