Loud squealing, Help needed
Loud squealing, Help needed
Hey guys, so Im having an issue with my 01' Civic Coupe' and I figured I would see if a you guys knew what might be the problem. I have little to no knowledge about what goes on under the hood so if this is a simple problem, my apologies.
I've read my vehicles manual but it didn't seem to offer me much, as well I have done a search and nothing I found regarding squealing seemed to happen while shifting.
Problem: While driving, when I release the clutch and apply the gas I get a loud squealing noise coming from under the hood. The squealing will stay for approx 20 sec while I continue to drive and does not change with subsequent gear changes. I've noticed it does this more often when the weather is cool. I haven't had a chance to pull over and find out where the sound is coming from, but from sticking my head out the window it sounds like its coming from the drivers side.
Any help would be appreciated. I had a look at a couple of the belts and they don't look worn or frayed. I assume a belt is the culprit but I'm not sure.
Thanks
