I do beleive its 7 years or 105,000 miles. When you change it out i would recommend changing the water pump, drive belts and seals..If you pay to have it done its probly going to cost $400 to $700 bucks depending on where you get it done, you can also tackle the project yourself for the price of parts and your time..

Some Sis have timing chain not a belt; the chain can last longer than the belt and won't need replacement as frequent. also, for the timing belt job it's good idea to replace the cam and crank seals and check the tensioners and pulleys. i did my timing belt at 110k and it cost me around $325. if you do it yourself, you need to be very careful, i know a friend whose car broke down on the highway after a timing belt job

04 SI has a chain, not a belt.
Engine is on the passengers (right) side.
2.0 K motor.
No replacement interval as long as the right oil has been used and changed regularly.
The chains don't put up with neglect.

FYI- This is especially important on DOHC engines.

All civic Si from 02 to present use Chain..(correct me if i am wrong)

If your car is running fine then i wouldn't mess with it yet.. When it comes time to for it to be done unless you are familiar with changing them i would pay to get it done right, if you mess it up it will cost thousands to repair instead of hundreds...

What does your owners manual say about replacing the timing chain as a maintenance item? Look in the maintenance section where it lists when to change fluids and filters and stuff. (I didn't look.)

I have seen one SI engine that jumped time. I have no idea if it made any noises or gave any warning though.

The engine was "low maintenance", neglected the oil changes and/or didn't use the correct oil.
He*l, the entire car was "low maintenance" for that matter.
