Need Help

I will start off by apologizing if this has already been addressed, but I am new to this site and didn't see anything that told me what I am looking for.
My car started cutting out and then the check engine light came on. I took it to have the code read and it said it is a P1336 crankshaft speed fluctuation sensor B signal fault??? I am not a mechanic and know nothing about cars. I have slowly rebuilt this car...I have replaced the battery, distributor, rotor, cap, wires, plugs, timing belt, water pump and fuel filter. It's a 97 civic ex. I just need to know what that means (in layman terms) and if it is safe to drive or if I need to have it towed.
Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks!!
