Exclamation 2001 Civic Crazy start up all of a sudden!!!

Im new to this forum so hopefully im doing everything right. I have a 2001 Honda Civic Ex 4 door which was working flawlessly and today it started acting weird. I opened the door using the alarm button that comes with the key and before i closed the door the locks on all my doors shut. This was odd because it never has done this and then when trying to start the car all the gauges went crazy moving up and down a couple cm. Then they settled down and the car started. To get even worse as i was driving the key just fell out of the ignition while the car was on. Now it does this all the time. What could be the problem as i have done nothing to the car. Please help me have any of you had this

im not sure about the ignition, but the gauges and stuff sounds like a loose battery cable or bad battery starting to die.

The key shouldn't be able to fall out of the ignition, I have a feeling you need new tumblers in the ignition and that might be related to the odd start-up as well.

Re: 2001 Civic Crazy start up all of a sudden!!!

Il check the battery but it shouldn't be that since i bought it brand new. Its odd the car was perfect in every way until today. Oh and might i add that the alarm remote attached to my keys does not lock or work anymore. Could my car have gotten an alarm since someone said that could be the problem.

This whole problem started with the alarm key since i really never use it and only lock the car manually so im guessing its there but still the key can easily be removed while the car is on. Will driving it like this kill my cars computer or become a problem?
