take a look under your car. i had the same problem @ one point. look at your exhaust pipe. i had a plastic bag stick to and then melt onto my exhaust. when i switched exhausts the smell was gone. other guys had problems with their brake pads or rotors heating up from heavy breaking and then making a melted funk. you'll have to search for that info though .

The same thing happened to me how funnie, I took it to the dealer, and they found a plastic bag stuck or attached or inside the exhaust tip or something. I felt stupid, but hey at least it wasnt something more serious. I have already had to take it in numerous times for stupid stuff, like my gear box breaking and them having to fix the whole thing, and realign my car, etc.

if you have a 5 speed.. could be your clutch... be sure to push the clutch pedal all the way down when shifting....and don't rest your foot on the pedal when you're driving... if you have automatic... look around and see if anything plastic is touching and hot or that would be hot while driving... ie... exhaust...
