Cylinder 2 Misfire
Cylinder 2 Misfire
Flashing check engine light, got the code checked at autozone, had a cylinder two misfire. changed the coil, light went away for about a day, ran fine..on my way home from the work, it acted worse than before, sputtering, barely any power, struggled going up hills...changed plugs last night, and the light is still on but the sputtering has calmed down alittle...Should I replace the two other coils? I know that they usually just don't go "bad"...any other cheaper fixes before I look into other stuff, like a head gasket?
Re: Cylinder 2 Misfire
It could be a head gasket. Head gaskets only usually cause misfire at first startup after the cylinder has had a chance to fill up with coolant. Unless its a massive head gasket leak it won't misfire constant. Check your coolant levels if your worried about your HG. Trace your ignition wires and make sure they are intact. Change your spark plugs. I don't know how you jumped to a coil right away but at least its out of the way. Clean your throttle body. Coils generally last the life of the car though sometimes they do fail.
