2001 Honda Civic Headers (Pics Inside)
Hey guys,
I just purchased a 2001 Honda Civic EX (Canadian model Si). I recently replaced my headgasket and I got a chance to see some of the parts on my car. The headers looks aftermarket to me, however I am unaware of what a stock set looks like. What do I have here?

There you go.. I see it now.
I went into my garage to take a gander at my old OEM one.. It looks remarkably similar. It just looks like the heat shield was taken off

The heat shield was taken off only for the above pictured headgasket change. It is still installed on the car.
I don't know. It looks standard to me but I've had a few people point out that it looks aftermarket, including my mechanic.

The runners look a bit on the thin side for me to believe they were aftermarket.
here's my aftermarket header, for reference. Well, kinda.. Just the only pic I could find with a semi-decent pic of my header.

Ouu so clean, lol. Oh well, I only got this car for $2300 to use in the winter. You are in the states. What they call an EX there is an Si here. 127-HP Vtec D17A2
I like that your alarm isnt installed right above the headers like mine. What type of intake is that? With the amount of corrosion on my headers I didn't really think anything of them.

Lol, the alarm siren isn't there anymore. I've since taken that part out. My alarm unit **** itself a few years back and I've just been lazy. Not bad with the car though. Fix it up nicely and it could be a fun plaything.. lol. I don't think the heat shield fits on an aftermarket header, so that's another think that makes me think it's OEM.
The intake is an AEM V2. And my engine bay is.. eh.. kinda clean. The picture makes it look cleaner than it is
I make an attempt to wipe down the visible parts when I'm drying my car after a wash.
I was actually gonna post this picture, but I found a better angle that showed the header better.

Yeah, the cover fitting would be strange if the headers were aftermarket. For what its worth, my mechanic used a hose clamp to stop it from rattling at around 3k rpm because for some reason it isn't a "perfect" fit.
So that makes me think again
Its a pretty fun plaything, this is the first car I've owned where the ebrake actually does something, lol. Also the smallest car I've probably ever driven. Balding tires and the rain we get around here makes for an interesting drive

Heat shields are notorious for rattling at certain RPMs.. Come to think of it, the rattling I had (~2500 rpm) way back when hasn't been in my car since I went aftermarket..
Oh, and you only got one header, and really, since it's OEM, it's just an exhaust mani.. lol.. semantics? yes.. but someone saying they have "headers" on their 4-banger makes my eye twitch a little.. lol

Lol, I hear ya man.
After picking up some engine oil at Walmart today, on my way out from the Automotive section I saw a bunch of decals.
One of these was a "V8" badge. Then I thought of how it would look on my civic

Lol, I know you're joking, but good god, please no..
Oh, and I know the Canadian Si is the US ex. I've been around a while. I kinda know stuff.
I just caught that in that post of yours.
What else you got planned for the civic?

Im not the type of person who would do that and take themselves serriously. It would just be funny as hell, like my alarm being able to go off while I drive and people thinking theres a european cop behind them
Right now I'm on the hunt for a tire/rim winter package. The car came with 14 inch aftermarket rims. Tires however, stayed at 195/60R/14 meaning my speedo probably displays a bit faster then I'm actually going seeing as the OEM spec is 185/60R/15. I'm just happy that this car was rustproofed, the body is in good shape, its a 2 door manual and everything on it works.
Now with the thermostat, water pump, timing belt, pulleys and headgasket changed as well as synthetic oil, endurance is the name of my game.

My OEM tire size was 185/65-15
here's a good tool to use to figure out how off your speedometer would be
