civic knock sensor malfunction

have 2000 honda civic ex with d16y8 1.6l sohc engine.
car burnt exhaust valve on #2 cyl no CEL until after problem Car also used alot of oil before hand approx 1qt+ per 1000 miles had head rebuilt with new valves and also replaced piston rings while apart. While removing head I broke knock sensor and found out they were expensive. found one one ebay new and cheap replaced and put engine back together. runs great but CEL came on. Took to parts store for check problem code said knock sensor malfunction contacted vender where new ks was purchased and they sent me another one. Installed and drove car and CEL came on again just as before usually when i first hit a bump in road. Car runs great with no timing retard. anyone heard of problems with cheap generic ks? are the counterfiets out there. could that be the problem can you check a ks to see if its good?

thanks

Re: civic knock sensor malfunction

I have the same problem with a 1996 civic. New cheap KS and still getting P00325 code. Also the engine will not idle right when in park. Varies between 1-2k rpms. Is this due to the KS or should I look for something else?
