AC problem on 01 LX

okay so I just bought hte car like 3 days ago, and the AC works great, but I noticed that if I take off rather quickly say to get out before a car can catch upto me to rearend me, the AC cuts out, which I figure is to help get more power to the car. But the problem I have is it is like it near re-engages until I shut the car off and restart it. If I just always take it easy it will run all day and work great, but if I quickly accelerate one time it's disengages and stays off. Where should I start to look???

Re: AC problem on 01 LX

Sounds like the pressure switch but, first you need to check for an HVAC DTC:

1. ignition off
2. fan **** to off
3. while holding the recirc and rear defog buttons turn ignition to the ON(II) position (do not start engine-position III), and then release the buttons
4. the recirc and rear defog indicators should come on. the recirc indicator should go off 2 seconds later and the A/C indicator should come on.
5. about 10 seconds later the A/C indicator will go off and IF there is a DTC the recirc indicator will blink. *count those blinks and get back to me.

Well, I did it exactly as you said, and everything worked just the way it said, but I got no flashes. So i tried it a second time and everything went well with no flashes there either.

Do you have a multi-meter? Your gonna need it:

1. turn ign ON(II)
2.find pressure switch 2-wire connector on top of the dryer bottle and disconnect it. (look down past power steering pump and alternator, as if you were looking at the rear of the front bumper. you can't miss it, it's canister shaped with 1 two-wire connector on top. see photobucket pic.)
3. check for voltage between the blue/white wire and ground.
4. get back to me
