Another gas door problem , not involving the switch or cables.
hi this is my first time posting here.
just got a 01 coupe silver dx 5spd.
I went to fill up and i found that the gas door didnt open
when i pushed the release. I had someone hold it down while i
pop it out with a piece of plastic.
The cable and switch are ok , but the gas door
plunger/striker/catch(whatever you want to call it.the little cylindrical plastic piece that slides inward to let the spring release the door) was broken off.
From what it looks like you cant just replace
just the plunger thing , only the entire unit.
Iam about to just rig something up in the meantime.
Anyone ever had this happen or have found a fix?
