Leakey Leakey ....

2002 Two door Civic (with trunk not hatch-back). The rain is getting in to the trunk soaking every thing.

Is this common with this model?

What are the solutions?

Thnx

Re: Leakey Leakey ....

get inside the trunk and see where the water is coming in from. could be trunk seal, taillight gasket seals, plugged up moonroof drain channels, etc. mine was leaking bad but i couldnt see where from. turned out to be the rear side window molding trim. it is clipped to the metal body and there are a few holes where the clip goes in that were letting water in. i put some rubber sealer around the holes and pressed the trim back on, its been dry ever since.

Re: Leakey Leakey ....

My trunk had a leak when I first got it (apparently a pretty common thing). Turned out to be coming from the top of the driver side taillight. Simply put some sealer in there.

Let it sit in the rain for a while, dont drive it, then if water is present, trace the leak back to the culprit. If you still cant find the leak get a partner, peel down the fabric in the trunk and fold down the back seats. One guy drives and the other guy looks around the trunk for the leak. Worked for me!! lol.
