I recently had to jump start my honda civic 2002 ex, us version. When the car started, the dashboard started acting weird. All the gauges don't work, so i don;t know how fast i am going or how much fuel i have etc... the light for dashboad don't come on. the odometer, low gas fuel indication light and key light keeps flashing. What does this mean? how can i fix this? help please.

correction its not the key light blinking, its the hand brake light blinking.

i should also mention that when we were jumping the car, we accidentally short the wires.

its very possible you caused major damage to the electrical system and even messed up the main computer. im not sure what you can do at this point except check the fuses and wiring. you may need a new computer and some of the wiring might need to be replaced.
