The engine light is on but light has been on before this problem occured. Car has many modifications. I can start engine but when I depress throttle, engine sometimes dies or goes from normal idle to a sickly idle. When I attempt to rev the engine, on extremely rare occasions, it will begin to rev up but much more frequently the engine will flounder and often die. On these rare occasions that the engine finally revs, if I rev for a while then turn engine off and immediately restart, the engine immediately revs up. But if I wait several minutes before restarting the engine, the engine continues to NOT rev up and instead, the engine sounds weaker than at normal idle and often dies. I tried scanning with a Solus but scanner does not seem to interface at all thus, no solus readout. Any suggestions on what might be causing this problem?
