I wanted to post this message in a new title to make sure that you read it, because it is very apparent that the flamers are flaming you in your original post. I want you to know that your not alone in your troubles with your car. The thing that these people don't understand is you can get the "bad apple"from any car company. I heard nothing but great things about Hondas and the dealership I bought my car from. Unfortunately, I have had the squeaking noise from the suspension (replaced struts three times, but still not fixed), paint peels (fixed three times, not fixed), a heater that has a mind of it's own, and many, many other problems. In Michigan, the law says that the car can't accumulate more than thirty days where the vehicle is out of service to the consumer. Mine now has 43, and will be going in next week, so I will probably accumulate close to fifty days in the first year. I also have hired an attourney to help recover my money. Unfortunately, the legal system is extremely slow to begin with, on top of Honda taking their sweet **** time doing things such as reviewing the case, setting court dates, etc.
I must say I have lost all my faith in Honda. I get the car back with the problems not fixed, on top of more problems (ie. broken trim, stains on carpet, etc.) The thing that sets me off is now that they know about the lemon case I have against them, they print the invoices that say the car is fixed before the work is completed. I am firm in my belief that I will own another honda when frogs fly out of my a s s. As far as people telling you to sell your car, my question is why would we do that. I know in my case, I stand to get back 4600. 00 down payment, 2559.40 in payments, and about 1400 for the loss of my accessories (alteezas, alarm, tint), plus punitive damages. Why would someone trade in a car that they still owe on and lose money, when they can get back all that money. You would have to be a heartless b a s t a r d to sell a car with all those problems to someone who didn't know any better. So just stick it out, and it will pay off! THere are many of us who are right there with you!

LOL thank you. Well from what I understand from the flamers in the original post was I was coming off like this is the norm for Honda's. I know how you feel though. I still need to take it in for the brakes for the like millionth time, the tranny for the 6th time, my front strut again, my windsheild, my clutch, and now I'm going to start bugging them about all the little stupid things that just plain annoy me. Hey did you get a loaner car? They refused to give me one. From what I understand I could have this piece of **** car for another 14 months god damnit. I want the hell out of this death trap. I wrote a letter to Bob Hoehn the owner of Hoehn Honda (which was where I bought my car) and he passed me back to this a$$hole that refused to do anything the first few times I talked to him. Mind you Bob Hoehn is supose to be a upstanding guy. Yeah f*cking right he's such an a$$hole. I still love the excuse I get from everyone "it is the first year the car is out it is going to have a few bugs deal with it" f*ck that why should I? Plus it isn't the first year the car is out. I hate to tell all of them that all cars are available in Japan a year before they make their way to the states. Well good luck with your suit and if you need anything or just need to talk you can email me.
My seat rocking issue has been the most bothersome of any of the problems my car has had. It's amazing how awful it is. Two different HONDA dealers have told me that the seat is operating as designed. That means it was designed to rock. A ton of people seem to have this problem man, it sucks. whatever, it's the last HONDA I'll ever buy.
This whole logic of "It's the first year...blah, blah, just doesn't fly." A new car is not Beta software. We are not guinea pigs. Nowhere in the OWNERS MANUAL or on the INVOICE does it say that there are some problems that are likely to occur because this is a first year model car...duh!!! That's just rhetoric.
I really don't wanna hear the BS logic that it could be worse, you could drive a FORD FOCUS or DODGE NEON, they have a lot worse problems. That argument holds no water. Two wrong don't make a right. HONDA CIVIC's are overrated plain and simple.

I just think of making my car payment now as putting money in the bank. Eventually I'll get it back. I have gotten a loaner one time from the dealer in Michigan that had my car for a week. When I take it to the dealer in Ohio, they have to give the free rental car to my dad since I am only 19. What they have thought this whole time is that I am just some stupid kid who they can jerk around. They don't know that I am a junior in college, majoring in business, so I have take all the ethics, and proper business procedures classes. Oh well, they will have lost a crap-load of money. I'd say, by the time it's all over they will have lost 25,000-35,000.

thats how it is with a lot of cars from a lot of manufacturers. they are supposed to actually fix the problems though. im still confused on why they arent fixing your seat rocking problem though, have you tried showing them that a 2002 civic doesnt do it
Yeah well I know how you feel but, you are luckier than me. You are a male yeah you are young but so am I. Think how it is for a 20 year old female trying to deal with all those sexist a$$holes. "Oh hunny" "oh sweety don't worry" Plus you have your dad there to help you I don't have anyone I'm all on my own. They will learn. Well all I know is I will get at minimum almost $7000 for myself, my loan paid off and my lawyer paid $300 per hour. Plus there will NEVER be another Honda in my driveway.
