do you guys get static shock
do you guys get static shock when touching door handle or black metal piece around window when u exit your car? because i do. and i always have to open my door and touch the silver paint part of door first so i don't get shock. i hate it, cuz the shock is fuuucking annoying and shock u like a ghost just touched u.
we have talked bout this, but most of us get shocked.....i reached for somethin under the seat today and touched a piece of metal under the chair....i got rocked from the shock and it shocked me so bad i jumped up, smokin my head on the inside door frame....uncool....but its life haha

I've never had that happen to me in any other car but as soon as I started driving my civic..... every time I get out of the damn thing it shocks me. I thought maybe it was because my hair's really long. It doesn't shock anybody else that gets out of it. Just me.
Yep it happens to me a lot here in Arizona, too dry here but when I was in Oregon the humidity is usually really high because of all the rain and it never happens. But me and my passengers usually always get zapped here it sucks yep, but my moms old Blazer had the metal handel on the ouside and I would get zapped the worst from that vehicle. I always get zapped using the vaccuum cleaner in the car have to really watch that, down here in Arizona.

very simple solution guys.. I discovered this on my own. when you slide out of your seat to get out of the car, you work up static. that's why you get shocked, especaily in the winter, with less humidity in the air. even if you don't think you're 'sliding' out of your seat, you are. to PREVENT getting shocked, open the door and before you even move to get out of your seat, reach up and grab or rest your hand over the top of the black metal door/window frame. while your touching that metal, get out of your car. bingo, no shock. you won't look odd to others; people will just think you're sort of lifting yourself out of your car. eventually (in my case) you'll get used to it and start doing it naturally. I can't remember when the last time was I got shocked. just make sure you don't shift around in your seat at ALL until you're touching the metal. hope you find this useful.. spread the word remember, it's not a problem with the car.. it's science.
This is the most shocking thread I have read yet!! and yessssssssss I get the damn shock too.....I am gonna try that roof grab thingy...
yeah me and my girlfriend always get shocked!!
it seems worse in her civic than in mine, but it sucks cause like for the next hour if i go near her i get shocked!! i thought it was some kind of contraption that her pops put on the car to keep my hands off his daughter, haha!

you know what...I was just going to make a new post of this same exact topic today, b/c I just am getting sick of it. anyway, I just thought it was funny...so to get to the topic, yup I do get shocked, EVERYTIME I get out of my car. And no, these aren't tickling shocks...these are sparks flying, my hand flying away from the door, my hand hurting like hell shocks. Well, alright, they're not always THAT bad, but still, the softest shocks are more than just tickling. It's definitely the car, b/c every person, no matter their hair length, where they were seated, season of the year, humidity outside, ANYTHING, they get shocked. My girlfriend hate it, b/c I like to drive my car instead of her Integra (mostly b/c her car is an auto), so we always drive in my car to go places, and she gets shocked.
Anyway, enough complaining...here's a question...could all that static be caused in part by how the electronics in the car are grounded?? Like can I ground my CD player in a different place to lessen the static?? Just curius.
