INJEN SRI QUESTION

I've just installed the SRI and everytime I push the gas it makes a hissing sound (and im not talking about the deep throaty sound either)....???? is something wrong or am i just tripping? i know it's supposed to make the hissing sound as soon as you turn off your car but it does it too everytime i step on the gas....i checked and everything seems fit and secure...any help would be much appreciated...
ps...sorry for the double post...

When I first turn my car on and accelerate with the AEM CAI, it hisses loud enough that people have accused me of hiding a turbo in there. I don't mind it that much, it goes away roughly after about 15 mins of driving. It is kind of annoying that I know it's there so I hear it alot but most of the time I think it's just my mind exaggerating. I think it's normal, nothing to worry about.

I have the same exact thing happening. I just want to know why my car still isn't very fast. I put the Injen SRI on, and it didnt seem to make a hell of a difference. I was wondering if it has something to do with that damn air-flow sensor. I would like to overide it somehow. But I dont know what the hell to do.

CRAZEDMAN52: Where is Layton? Utah? Also, unfortuately you don't get that much from an intake. Also the hissing is normal.

I installed an intake on a 97' civic lx and even at highway speeds when the gas pedal is pushed al the way you can here a faint whistling sound, it's just the air rushing in.

That's good to hear!!! My car, I noticed started making that hissing sound too. I put a thread up in this forum asking what it might be. I put a AEM CAI on my 2k1 civic and I noticed that when I started up to accelerate, that I kinda thought that my belts were squeaking or I tore up my engine! I've also had people to ask me if I had a turbo or something. Its loud and it sometimes gets on my nerves, but I still love the growl of the intake. It's awesome! Honda rules!!!!

the intakes aren't really for power cause they don't make much, mainly for the sound, that is why i am getting mine at least...
