Re: Lifters
We don't have lifters in our engine.... We have rocker arms. Two different things. Don't put tranny fluid in your oil.
What problem are you having?

Re: Lifters
What noise? You're saying you're getting a grinding noise coming from the rockers and/or cam? You need to pull the VC now and see what's going on. Dumping a bottle of whatever into the oil is not the solution here.
Re: Lifters
it's going to postpone it til i get money to get someone to adjust my lifters. btw there is lifters in my engine. the lifters lift the rods, the rods push the valve, and the rocker arms are on the other side of the valve.. figured i'd clear that up ;p

Re: Lifters
All right then, I'll bite. Looking at your profile you have a 1996 Civic EX, which should have a D16Y8 which does NOT have lifters.
What engine do you have if it's not the Y8? Every Honda engine that I've ever worked on (SOHCs from 86 thru my 2003) didn't have lifters. The only thing moving the valves is the cam via the rockers. The lobes on the cam are in contact with the rollers on the rocker arms which in turn push the valve down and then allow it to come back up, because of the valve spring.
Figured I'd clear that up.
Are you talking about adjusting your valve lash? Don't argue with me that your engine has lifters if you're going to pay someone to do your valve lash.
