Rep Power: 216 How to adjust shift cable?
OK so ive narrowed down my problem with my shift **** and trasmission or whatever you wanna call it. Its either the cable or the sensor...im leaning more on the fact of it being the cable. So the next question is...how do i adjust this cable. More specifically how do i get to the cable, where is it located? I tried to search and i couldnt find any info...sorry if i missed a thread somewhere.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

Fwahhh, sorry man, can't help you there then. If it was a manual I could help, but then again if it was a manual you wouldn't be having these issues. Sorry. Bump to the top for someone else!

Thats alright, i decided to see if i could figure it out myself and i did.
I had to take off the center console and the cable is right there...easy adjustment. I might write a DIY for it, im not sure though.
Thanks for your help though.

The **** was off one position from what the car was actually in.
IE: If the car was physically in rev the **** was in park, and if it was in neutral the **** was in rev, if it was in drive the **** was in the neutral position. I fixed it though so im pretty happy.
I love fixing my own problems, it beats takin the thing to the shop where they will just rape me of money that i dont have.
Im gonna go to school soon for automotive tech stuff.

Hah it was a pain in the ***...i had to put it in Neutral(even though the **** was in the rev position lol), then put the parking brake on. Then i had to pop the hood, get out...disconnect the battery, take the key out, reconnect the battery and lock the car. It was so embarressing and it just...it just sucked lol. Its all fixed though now hehe. I better get goin on that tech school stuff, i got fired from my job last night.

ah, i thought it was the sensor becuase you were able to physically put it in park but the computer wasn't reading as such. with what you just told me I coulda told you that it was the cable in the first place

I wanna thank everyone for their suggestions though, i kinda narrowed it down to the cable...but i still wasnt sure if it was the sensor or not. Easy fix though, thanks again.

Is yours auto as well?
Heres how to do it..and the reason it happened is more then likely you slammed your car in park while it was moving.
Its actually a built in safety so you dont destroy the transmission doing that..
