Nope just over the years in the AZ summer it started to get these little "cracks" in it.
Re: Anybody's paint crack like this?
They're called "crows' feet"... It's very unfortunate for you. You can try to polish the whole car with a buffer (DeWalt or Makita polisher 0-3000 RPM) Of course try to stay away from the 3000 RPM mark, it'll burn your paint all the way through metal. You can try that, and if it's too bad then paint it. I've seen things like that here in FL and it does not look pretty at all!

I had the same issue with my 94 corolla after 10 years ... and the guy above me is right ! Im from florida too and I thought I was the idiot who cared a lot for the exterior of a car .. I was wrong ... i still couldnt save my ride with those BLISTERS ... Sadly ur car might need a paintjob buddy ...

That's not something you can fix with a rubbing compound and buffer. The crack most likely goes all the way down to the metal. You can make them less noticable by buffing, but they won't go away completely. It's from the expansion and contraction of the metal, especially if you like in a place like Arizona where it's crazy hot. Also if your hood is hot and you wash your car before letting it cool down, it'll accelerate the appearance of cracks. Similar to that the nature of thin wine glasses being pulled out of the washer machine while there still hot and you put ice cold water in it, it'll crack.

Yes actually my paint is cracking just like that on the front end of my hood (02 LX). I didn't notice it though until after I had installed a header. my suspicion is that the header makes the hood hotter, it expands

Re: Anybody's paint crack like this?
Try Installing a Large Leather Cover On the bottom side of ur hood. The part that stays on top of your engine. Diesel Engines release 3 times more heat than our engines and thus many Diesel cars come with an almost half inch thick leather cover which is the size of the hood from the bottom ...
