I have a 2002 Honda Civic EX Coupe, 1.7L VTec, 5 Speed, AEM Short Ram Intake, 2 inch catback exhaust, dropped an inch and a half, Sound System, recently swapped out my 18inch Enkei rims and replaced with 15inch 5 star generic rims
and I have a couple of problems.
My rpm's are dropping from 800-900 to 400-500? The car shakes a little bit when it does drop, I believe it is because of the drop in rpm's, but what could be making it drop?
What is a cost efficient solution?
I also have a small rattle in my exhaust, when I got under the car while it was on, I held the exhaust pipe right before the rear passenger tire and the rattling stops. The sound also happens in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear, but not in 4th or fifth. Now, I did have a couple 'heavy' people in my car and I couldn't make it over this one speedbump without scrapping the exhaust
, could that have caused the problem, and if so, what is a quick and cheap solution?
And the last of my problems, I installed a sound system in my car recently deck, amp, subwoofer, the usual. A couple of a weeks after the SRS light came on and I had a few problems with one of the wires slipping out of a butt connector and blowing out a few fuses
.. I got back in there and bought a stock to aftermarket harness connector, installed the harness, no loose wires, no more popped fuses.
So should I go about the solution in one of the main posts about turning the SRS light off or should I have my dealer check the ECU?
Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks.

the fat people did it but the srs light comes from blowing the fuses and taking or messing with the yellow plug under the seat so if you took the seats out and unplugged the yellow plug then thats why the srs light is on

Re: RPM/Other small problems with my 02 Civic EX
So, should I follow the instructions in the SRS light thread to turn it off? and as far as the exhaust rattle, could the rpm drop and rattle be caused from an exhaust leak? if so I just need to take it to a exhaust shop and have them weld the exhaust right? I can change the hangers myself but I'm not a welder ;]
Thanks for the reply, any other suggestions or comments welcome!

you got it^^ but if the srs comes back on you should take it to the dealer because the airbags wont deploy with the srs light on
Re: RPM/Other small problems with my 02 Civic EX
um the rpms may be caused by your idle valve (iac valve) it sometimes can get pretty dirty and to solve this just takes a little elbow grease and some TB cleaner or carb cleaner which can be found at any autoparts store
the iac is located on the left of your throttle body (TB) just remove the part and spray it down and wipe it real good theres a DIY on here somewhere also you might want to clean the butterfly in the TB as well to make air flow better this also has a DIY just search the DIY section or take a look at grey's profile

Re: RPM/Other small problems with my 02 Civic EX
Thanks fellas, my car's going in the shop for some warranty work and some body work, so when I get it back I'll look up that IAC valve DIY and get to it.
Again, thanks for the response and help.
