I just bought a 2001 Honda Civic EX Coupe and noticed that the running lights do not work. Are they supposed to work or are they just there for looks? If they are functional, how do I make them work?

if ur talking about the orange ones, then yes, they are supposed to work, and one side is easy to replace, the other is a b**tch, its just a couple of bulbs

You must be talking about the 194 wedge bulbs their burned out.
their are access panels under the bumper to get to them you will need to stick your arm all the way up their and remove the socket.
It's a real bitch to get to.

By the way they are not running lights.
running lights come on whenever the car is running regardless if the headlights are off.
These are called city lights the come on when you parking/headlights are turned on.
