the manaul says erase the code, wait 40 seconds then see if it comes back, if so, update the ecu or replace it if no newer software.

Re: P1607 EGM/PGM Internal Circuit Failure A

Greetings; my honda has the P1607 code and it appeared just after Meineke replaced my EGR valve; I took it back and the mechanic tells me I may or may not need a 6 pin connector or I may need a new ECM??? He would not know until they are tested.

Anyone know of these issues?

Thank you in advance for any input.

Regards,
Carolyn

Re: P1607 EGM/PGM Internal Circuit Failure A

sounds like maybe they caused it but i dont see how if all they did was replace the egr. unless they messed with the battery. its ecu related, maybe some wiring got messed up. you can try swapping with a different ecu if you can find one. check ebay for one but make sure its for the right year, trim (dx/lx/ex), and transmission type for your car.

I actually just did this. I got one on E-bay for $100. They shipped it to my house and I swapped it out. After that me and a friend towed the car to honda and the updated the pcm and sync'd the Keys and pcm with the security system.
