the manaul says erase the code, wait 40 seconds then see if it comes back, if so, update the ecu or replace it if no newer software.

am i able to spray tb/intake cleaner in to the intake and start without exploding

Greetings; my honda has the P1607 code and it appeared just after Meineke replaced my EGR valve; I took it back and the mechanic tells me I may or may not need a 6 pin connector or I may need a new ECM??? He would not know until they are tested.
Anyone know of these issues?

sounds like maybe they caused it but i dont see how if all they did was replace the egr. unless they messed with the battery. its ecu related, maybe some wiring got messed up. you can try swapping with a different ecu if you can find one. check ebay for one but make sure its for the right year, trim (dx/lx/ex), and transmission type for your car.
