100k tune up
2003 ex 5 speed
hello I am wanting to know what should be changed? I am planning on timing belt, water pump, spark plugs, transmission fluild, and brakes. Is there any other belts that could be changed I am planning on keeping car for a very long time so I would rather change stuff early to help the car keep going strong. Also with the spark plugs is anyone changing the ignition coil packs as well if so is it a good idea to get that from the dealer or can I go aftermarket if it is avaliable?

Re: 100k tune up
You could also check your accessory (serpentine belt(s)). The one runs from the crankshaft, to the power steering, alternator, etc. If you have A/C, then there is a second belt for that. These belts may or may not need to be replaced. Just inspect for any cracks or signs of excessive wear. If so, replace them. Also, change your engine air filter, and passenger cabin filters. I have yet to hear of anyone replacing the coils. They are rather expensive at the dealer and hardly ever need replacing. In the case of the coils, I would say don't fix what is already working fine. Hope this helps.
