Subaru Impreza?
Subaru Impreza?
I am starting to think about a new car.
I looked into the Acura TSX but it gets worse crash tests than the Civic and it is kinda expensive.
The Subaru Impreza has a lot of the features that I would like. Good safety,
4WD for the winter. The big trade off against the Civic is the gas mileage due to the 4WD and added weight, but it isn't too bad.
Of course, there is still the Civic, it has a lot to offer, especially with gas going to $3.00 a gallon soon.
Does anyone have any opinions on Subaru, as far as reliability and quality?

Nice car, Freind owns a WRX 01 and his car fricken FLYS... gets around 24 mpg he claims and another freind owns a Imprezda RS 99, not exactly too fast stock, but the milage and its driveablity in the snow is sick!

i just bought a 07 STI and all i can say is i love it not one single thing wrong with it, but the gas is kinda gay its 3.49gallon i get like 250 per fill thats with 50city 50hwy but thats what you get when buying this type of car, if you want to get good gas milage stay with your civic but if not get the wrx.

don't go EVO, they have tranny problems... as for Subies, they are not Honda's but they are really good cars when it comes down to reliability. They are like 4stars with Honda being 5 stars when it comes to quality.
I have a 2006 STI. Love the car. Only problems I have, and this is probably more a matter of taste than anything, there is a lot of road noise, the shifter is stiff so the shifting is not all that smooth unless you really work at it (unlike the SI which you can use one finger to shift), suspension is very stiff so it can be kinda bumpy sometimes, and you have jackasses in the stupidist vehicles trying to race you ALL the time (I had a guy in a beat up ram pickup try to race me at a stop light, WTF??). We are buying the Evo X when it comes out next year and turning out STI into our SCCA car.
I would definitely recommend buying the STI, you will never find another car like it (until the Evo X comes out of course
)

) Yea, and if you don't want the attention that the huge wing brings, just swap it for a WRX wing or go wingless. The STI limited has the WRX wing, but only 700 of those were shipped here, so it would be hard to find one. I hear the wing does noticably help on the track, as it does acually add downforce.
personally if i had the money i would buy an evo over a sti but thats just me,i love both of the cars tho.

Re: Subaru Impreza?
Unless it is imported 01 WRX, because the US didn't get the WRX until 02.
Re: Subaru Impreza?
For me (male, 20, Ohio, 2 tickets on my record) it would be something like 4.5k a year for full coverage. So quite a bit more than a Civic, but if you are over 25, then the rates go down quite a bit.
