Hi, this is my first post here. I am usually in the chey forum with my 55.

I have a 98 civic lx with a 4spd auto. Under a very slow accelearation it will sort of shift ok, but the shift point seem high. When I am under what I would consider a normal acceleration, the gears bang, shift real hard. Most noticable in gears 1 to 2 and 2 to 3. On the high way it works fine. I also find while accelerating if I let up on the gas it will shift smooth

any ideas?

first off, this is a 7thgen forum, and if im correct, a 98 is not a 7thgen, secondly, if you have over 30,000 miles, i would suggest you get your tranny flushed.

just cause he has a 98 civic doesnt mean he cant ask a question about it here.

Now I would start with checking the fluid level.
