ticking or knocking?

ticking or knocking?
ok i have an 01 civic ex coupe with 76xxx miles on it and when i start my car up i hear a knock from the left front side of my car and then sometimes when im ideling i hear a ticking and it does not sound good. i was wondering if you guys knew what this could be? im taking my car in for an oil change this week so ill just have the guy look at it either way.
