CEL came on last night, car kept stalling out, knock sensor?
So, my g/f got her car back last night, after my dad painted her new honda front bumper, and altezza grill. The car was probably there for a week and a half, but when i pulled it inside the shop to put the new bumper on it ran fine. So i go pick my g/f up, and she picks it up, and follows me back to my house. Well, on the way, she calls me and tells me her CEL light is on.
Once we get back to my house, she rolls down her window and said the car stalled out on her several times.
So, we take it up to my mechanic buddy, and he runs the scanner, and it comes up as knock sensor. This was after we barely limped the car up there BTW, everytime she would push the clutch in when slowing down, it would stall out.
So, he gets on the shops comp, and it goes through all this crap, of getting the car to operating temp., clear the code, and then run the car at 3000-4000 rpm for 60 seconds.
Have had no problems since.
Anyone know what could cause this? I would hate for this to happen again, and im sure my dad or i didn't touch anything electronic. Could it just be from sitting?
This is an 01 civic ex, btw.
Thanks!

ya the code will prolly come back. the failure has to occur a bunch of times usually for a code to be thrown. so just get ready for it to come back, they always do.
