yeah, i just replaced my alternator and disconnected the battery, i bought the car used from the dealer with no owner manual. Did someone say that you can go to the dealer and they can look it up?
yes go to any honda dealer and pull up to the service bay with the car. the tech will jump in and turn the radio off then press the 1st preset button then the last preset button at the same time and it will display the serial number. then he will get out and run it in the computer. then it gives you the code and you ask them for a sticker so you can put it in your glovebox. they might be out of stickers and write it onthe back of a buisiness card and give it to you. you then enter the code and happy radioing. total amount of work involved.....about 5 min of work Topps! and its free

now im curious as to how you knew that..........
Or you could do it yourself, get the serial number the same way, hold 1 and 6 on the radio while turning it on, it will show a 2 sets of number, each set with 4 numbers and the total 8 numbers will be your radio serial number. Take that to a Honda dealer and they will look up the code for you.
Feel safe at night, sleep with a paramedic.

I just sat in my car and called them, they had me push the 1 and 6 and give them the two sets of numbers. I couldn't believe they did it over the phone. I'm sure if anyone around here bothers to steal my stock radio, they'll have a hell of a time getting it to work in their car.
edit: this was intended as sarcasm. apparently some of you missed that.

but see if they stole your radio then they could do what you did and call honda to get the code. its programmed into the radio. it has nuthin to do with what car its in.
also i went to honda and this is how i know they do this. the service technician was right there and told me how to do it

damn! i wish i would have know about the 1 and 6 button trick! i called my original dealer and they wanted me to come in and have them take the entire deck out and look at the serial number on the back! One big problem i had was... i live 700 miles away from there now so i would have to go to another dealtership and PAY for the service. I was enraged by honda... me pay for their screw up!!! no way, i went to best buy and upgraded from the stock and got a sweet Alpine radio!! it bumps on my pioneer 6X9s!!!
Well I had this problem also. I put in a cold air intake and took my battery out along the way. I didn't have the code anywhere since Im not the original owner. Honda charge 70buks for service of taking your deck out. DIY and your serial should be on the back of the deck. Then you can get your code for free.
