I can't shift past 4k rpms, the ecu seems to have reset the redline to that. Although I've noticed yesterday that after 5k rpms it no longer pulled at all. Car's been acting funny in the lower gears for the past couple weeks, lots of jerking in between gear shifts. I thought it was just clutch/pressure plate.

I am not boosted, and that seems to be the only time this happens or something. Anyone have any ideas?

Nothing at all, actually. I took all my mods off about three months ago as I was gonna trade the car in for a truck. I don't drive the car hard or anything because I have my child in the car all the time. It's a 2003 though with 105k miles on it, so I guess maybe it's just it's time?

Have you searched your engine bay for anything that may have came disconnected

just try disconnecting the battery and wait like 30 minutes then plug it back it and maybe everything will be like new. thats my only guess for now

I had identical problem, i bet when u go to change ur oil they will tell u that theres almost no oil in ur engine, once u chagne ur oil ur car will drive normally, but u can pretty much say goodbye to ur oil rings cause ur car is burning lots of oil, which means - $$$$ for engine rebuilt or new engine - welcome to my life lol

i have a honda civic 1.7 diesel hatchback 2004 when cruising on motorway around 60mph it suddenly started dropping speed down to 40mph tried to accelerate and shift gears down or up it won't make any difference the rev counter seems to get locked on 2000 rvs per minute came of the motorway driving 30 mph on local road tried to accelerate it won't have it got home parked in drive in neutral gear accelerated rev counter was going past 2000 revs per minute right up to 5 or 6 sometime going uphill it only goes 25 mph won't go past 1500 revs per minute replaced air filter changed oil filter and engine oil fuel filter to change sometime it says 50 miles per gallon sometime 38 miles per gallon what is wrong
