I will be takeing it to this guy that specializes in hondas this weekend and we r going to see if we can figure this thing out together. if it wasnt for the oil light the car would be running great! it runs smoother and boost sooner , granted i cant take it over 4k b/c of the vtec problem, but i can already tell it is doing better than before. oh and the main thing...no more over heating!!!!

just got home from work and talked to the guy that is doing the work on my car. he said it is the vtec valve. he said in all of his years working on hondas he has only had to replace one of these but he said it is defenitly bad. i asked if that was the only thing wrong and he didnt know but he said it was one of the reasons why the codes where being thrown and if i replace it the problem might go away entirly.
where is the VTEC valve at? i would rather replace it myself than pay someone else to do it. do you think this could be the only thing wrong??

^^dont know, he told me but i cant remeber exactly what he called it. i could go by there tomorrow and see to be sure. this is new to me!
anyway he told me it would be $240 to fix. i told him i might get the car and fix it myself. but i gotta know what it is i am fixing!
well we havent had to run it much yet(after i drove it 1/2 mile)and i know the head is getting oil. if this does not fix it we are for sure hooking a mechanical gauge up.
could someone find a picture of what i am looking for on majestic. i am looking at the cylender head and related areas but i am coming up short.

its a possibility i dont know if it has battery backup. i know the vafc does so long as the battery isnt unplugged too long. may want to see if the maps are still there just in case, but yea if there is a problem and its affecting vtec, maybe the engine is getting fooled and throwing the code.

everywhere i check, no one wants to part the vtec solenoid with the head
oh well looks like honda will get a call.
oh as a side note, i am asking so many questions b/c my car is not here with me so i cant check some of this out myself.
