Rear Window Tint Removal...

Okay... I've got my '02 Civic Si coupe in mid-October of last year and a couple of weeks later I had the windows tinted 15% all around. Here in Ontario, it's not an issue regarding the percentage. Although legally, it's a maximum 50% on the doors, cops never pull me over or placed concerns during the ride programs (random alcohol checks).

Anyways, my issue is with the rear window tint. The guy who did the tint job, at the beginning, looked fine. Weeks went by, and eventually all the water dried up. But, upon close inspection, small tiny bubbles formed. And it's not that bad, but it bothers me especially at night time in the place where the backlight is mounted.

He told me that he'd re-do the rear-window, no charge. I figured, why not. But then I started to think about my A) rear defroster and B) the build-in-window antenna. If he strips off the tint, could that rip of the any of the above items? I'd rather live with the small bubbles (like I have for the last few months) than not have reception and/or foggy rear windows.

Appreciate some comments.

Cheers,

No, it will not affect your antennae or defroster, but why not let him do it? It his screw up and you paid him for it. If you do decide to do it yourself, just take a little razor blad or utility knife and pull up the tint in the corner. If its good quality tint and relatively new, it should all peel off in one pull.

If the guy who did your tint is a professional, then he knows what hes doing and wont rip off any of your lines. If he offered to do it for you, by all means, let him do it!
