new guy with simple question

I have an 01 civic ex just over 50K on it. Every now and then when strating the car I get a strange sound like a buzz from the ignition. I think its the starter but has anyone else had this problem and is it an easy fix?

What area exactly? I get one too but can't nail it down. Sounds almost middle or rear of engine. Like maybe a shield or something.

Well, it can be hard to pinpoint sometimes - have you thought that perhaps it's your fuelpump priming - put your key in, turn it to the ON position (to when the dash lights come on, but not the eng.) do you hear it then...

...i know it's in the rear, but it can be heard from inside the car and hard to pinpoint
