alright well im on my way back from work when all of the sudden im
approaching the entrance of my neighborhood i hear a clunking sound like metal to metal... i thought maybe i ran over something, afterwards I didnt hear anything else or see anything wrong so I didnt think much of it. approaching my street i start hearing a loud constant hissing sound. It almost sounded like a vacuum leak (which it isnt). Im actually starting to think its metals rubbing against each other.

I actually have reason to believe its my tranny. The noise is constant and loud but when I put the clutch in the noise gets a slightly higher pitched sound.

I had a 3 puck clutch installed a couple months ago no problems although I always did have a slight noise comming from the tranny when the clutch was not engaged (according to the forums input bearing). Now its a loud hissing sound like 2 metals rubbing against each other

But who knows it could be something else other than the tranny.

any help would be appreciated !!!!

well no help really sorry, but i do have that niose coming from my tranny 2, but i dont really pay no mind. the only thing that is wrong with mine i feel is that it keeps popping out of 3rd gear sometimes..

throwout bearing for you sir, was it replaced when you got the new clutch? my input shaft bearing is gone on my 5spd, just the opposite of what ur going through.
