Question 2001 Civic Immobilizer Bypass 555h or 555i

Hello. I have installed a remote start in my 2001 civic ex coupe and and it works perfectly as long as the key is close to the ignition. So I definately need a bypass. I bought the DEI 555h and installed it, but it doesnt work. I cut the data cable and tapped into the synch cable. It wont learn the code though. I read that the 555h should work, but most people use the 555i. Is there a way that I can just wire the 555h like the 555i and hope it works? This is frustrating!

I think the 555h and the 556h will both work, but they just need to be tapped into the call cable (you guys may call it the synch cable)

the 555I is specifically designed for the 01+ civic and the 02+ RSX.
