I'm tired of this
OK, I've had my civic since august and its awesome, but one problem, the interior windows have this nasty fog film , i dunno how to explain it, its like a permanant fog on the windows. I have washed the inside windows a bunch of times, but it is just back within a matter of hours. I don't smoke and no one smokes in my car so its not that, but i guess you couls kinda of say its like that
should i take it to my honda dealer?
i don't wanna look like an idiot cause my friends dad is the service manager

i do remember reading a thread about it a long time ago, but i dont remember if there was any solution. i think it was a common problem though

Ya, there was a good thread on this a while ago. Apparently someone said it was the chemicals trapped inside the vinyl and upholstery that evaporate and get stuck on the windows. If you just keep cleaning it off your windows, eventually, it will not happen anymore as your car ages and all the chemicals are released. Happened to me for a few months after I got my car, then slowly it stopped happening. My windows stay pretty clean now.
yeah it is, it's plasticide - it is made worse if you park your car in the sun.
it's usually really bad the first year, then dissapears as it is all released.
never fear, any new car (even a lexus) will do this...it's completley normal.
try to park in the shade

Don't worry bout it.... it's the fumes fromthe plastics like someone said...or might just be the residue left from installing the glass.... anyways i just cleaned it and it's gone.. i used water with dish detergent... wipe it on, leave for a few minutes then cleaned it with a wet towel..nuthin' major
Hey! Also, some cars came with a film of like vasoline. Mine did. The dealer (salesman actually) cleaned it like 4 times before he'd let me take the car. When I brought it back 3 days later for the spoiler & window tint, they cleaned them again (vinegar & water solution) several times. That did the trick.
There is also the plastic/chem. that comes from the back panel. It shouldn't last too long since the front windshield doesn't do it near as much.
I've heard that a water/vinegar solution & regular news paper (instead of paper towels) cleans the windows better then "anything" else out there. I haven't tried it, but that's what I heard.
Good Luck.

Oh great, it gets worse if you park in the sun. I live in Southern California and I almost always have to park in the sun... At home, work, school, and pretty much everywhere else I go I hate that damn film, it makes seeing out the rear window at night a pain. I hope it goes away for good SOON.
yall might think im stupid but if yall clean yall front dash with armarol or anything like that it tends to leave a foggy haze on ya winsheild when the sun beats on it and makes it evaporate! just something to think about
