Oh yea.....another strange thing...
Sometimes the car has trouble starting, one time it cranked, stalled out and cranked up again with no further probs., but it still gives me a hard time some mornings. Not to say the Civic is a bad car, but I will be returning to Nissan when next tax season comes around.
Later.

hondas tend to have a little trouble starting if you have less than 1/4 tank of gas.
ive noticed mine having trouble starting once in a while for no obvious reason. i wonder if it has something to do with the immobilizer system or the thing that keeps it from starting if the clutch isnt in

This is why they tell you not to keep your gas level below 1/4 tank because it causes some mildew inside or some form of build up. Once it gets to the fuel injection system, it causes problems when starting the car. Especially when it's cold outside!!! How did I know???? Experience from my other car.... Now I never go below 1/2 and no problems since... just a thought!
Ok...
This happens to me too...some mornings I will turn the key and it will be really cold the night before (by California standards) and it will start up fine. Other times I turn the key, the starter runs for 2, even sometimes 3 seconds before the engine turns over. It honestly sounds like it won't start sometimes.
What is interesting is that the instances in which the engine took the longest to turn over (one time was yesterday) I had almost 3/4 tank of gas and it was 75 degrees outside. And, it had only been like 45 min. since I had parked and turned off the engine.
WTF?!?!?!

Same thing happens to me, regardless of temperature. It's happened @ 25C and it's happened @ -10C (I'm in Toronto Canada).
Really annoying, even my 96 Sunfire didn't do this

Well, I guess you can count me in too. Kinda nice to know I'm not the only one that has this problem. Now we just need to find out why and have Honda address this issue as well. I'm a very picky person when it comes to performance...and this kinda upsets me since it's practically still a new car. I have 2300 miles on mine, but I guess it's still better than owning a domestic car. L8tr!
