Din? Iso?
Din? Iso?
im trying to install my mounting kit to put my cd player on and on the instructions it has a ISO mount applications and din mount applications what does this mean? also which one should i go with i have an alpine cda 9847 and an american international kit thanks
I know DIN refers to the height of the unit. Most cars have a double DIN slot which means the radio that comes out is twice as high as the DIN unit going in. So you have to get a mounting kit that would fill in the extra space. I have a 2005 Civic, it's got a double DIN slot and I had to do this.
Din is the size of the hole that the stereo fits, and iso is the wiring connectors used to plug the stereo in (pretty universal on newish cars). On my 2001 coupe i needed a wiring adapter to convert my Honda loom to Iso, so i did not have to start splicing cables, so was plug and play.
