Hi everybody,
Here is the deal. I drive a 2001 civic ex sedan. Thecar runs great and there is no problem with it. Today I was checking somethink and found something. The car is turned off I insert the key and put the ignition swithc in the ON position all the Check engine, SRS, ABS..... lights came on. The check engine lights up for like 15 seconds and then blinks 5 times and go off. Im not sure if this is normal or the 5 blinks mean something. I want u guys to let me know if this mean something ( like a erros code) or its just my ignorace.

i think that when the chek engine light blinks its a emmisions problem not sure tho.

no, when it blinks it means its time for it to go for a check up at the dealership, u just have to like push it the trip meter rod thing on the gauge cluster and hold it down for like 10 seconds after you start your car, that should fix it, its in the owners manual also. Unless u want to take it to the dealership, i didnt tho

everything is fine, its just running a performance check of all the systems. If the light stays on after you start the car, then you have a problem.

he is refering to when the key is in the II position. the check engine light will stay on for a bit then go out.
